Kayak and hiking adventure expeditions

Castelhanos beach

How about embarking on a different adventure, going where few people have the privilege of visiting? Hike up Mt. Baepi or to waterfalls in the jungles or paddle the untamed side of the island?

Kayaking
The open ocean side of the island of Ilhabela is still quite wild, hardly visited with 92% of its jungles untouched! There are beautiful beaches, some deserted, and plenty of wild life. The boats we use are stable doubles, safe, easy to handle, great loading capacity and fast. Spectacular in big seas! For over 20 years guiding excursions around islands and camping on deserted beaches; pristine places with a great deal of biodiversity -flora and fauna. Ilhabela is my playground since I live here.

Campsite

We provide all the safety and camping equipment: life jackets, spray skirts, towline, water removal pump; camping equipment: cooking utensils, tents, Queen size inflatable mattresses, hammocks (even sleeping bags can be provided).

For 2 years kayak guide and instructor in Canada and coordinator of “Paddlefest”, the largest paddling event of the USA and Canada. I offer personalized excursions with 1, 2, or 3 overnight stays, maximum of 5 persons as well as half-day and daylong excursions along the beaches, either south to Curral, or north to Jabaquara.

Paddling theory and orientation is provided to all for the Excursions at Perequê Beach from where the trips commence. First notions, paddle strokes, care upon embarking or landing and general knowledge of equipment is given. For reasons of safety and coherence, in all cases, prior to departure I shall always consult Internet for the weather & wind conditions to help define the right moment and the course to be taken.
